Community Service Opportunities

Belmont County Serve offers a variety of community service opportunities for court ordered community service recipients. Our programs include volunteering at local non-profit organizations and government entities. All defendants are responsible for organizing their own community service by contacting organizations listed below.

Volunteers

We coordinate with non-profit organizations in Belmont County to promote and advertise volunteer opportunities for those seeking community service hours. Our hope is to help those in need of community service hours find appropriate opportunities that align with their skills, interests, and availability.

We work with community leaders and organizations to identify areas of need and develop opportunities to address them while helping those who have received court ordered community service find an organization to serve.

  • Litter clean up, vehicle cleaning, landscaping, general cleaning, groundskeeping, etc.

  • Description of Service: Labor Intensive
  • Includes cleaning dog stalls, horse stalls, putting up hay, cleaning buildings, bathing dogs, walking dogs, and many other outdoor things. Sometimes we have special projects like painting a building, construction work, or even putting up fences. Some jobs include just shuffling paperwork and putting data into the computer. There is a wide variety of things to do.

  • Description of Service: Volunteers may work in our thrift store and food pantry. This work may include sorting and pricing donations for sale, stocking shelves, answering phones, and assisting with other odd jobs. The ability to work with others in a pleasant and helpful manner is required.

  • Description of Service: Water dogs, clean cages, mop, rake leaves, rower wash, organize storage areas, wash dishes, sort papers, clean litter boxes, clean walls and doors.

  • Description of Service: We ask volunteers to clean with us, organize, match, price, tidy up, be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Sometimes volunteers like to go on pickups with us where they will be moving furniture from houses into the warehouse.
